Scholarship Program

Our members sometimes encounter financial hardships that make it difficult to participate in the Torrance Civic Chorale. Between class registration, music deposit, concert wardrobe, and music binder, some members reluctantly take a semester’s hiatus from the Chorale when funds run short. Prospective members occasionally opt not to take the class when they hear about the ancillary expenses that accompany performing with the Chorale. For this reason, the Torrance Chorale Friends accepts donations to help cover some of the costs for these individuals.  Scholarship applications are reviewed by a small committee of Torrance Chorale Friends Board members and application information is kept strictly confidential. Decisions are made within one month of application.
